Petzyo, an Australian delivery-to-your door pet food company, is very unique. They have been in business for a while now, and have a lot of great feedback.

Our Petzyo dog food review will focus on the Chicken & Turkey dry dog food formula. However, they also have a great range of raw dog food, treats and a few other dry formulas. Raw dog food is also worth mentioning, but I won’t cover it.

Petzyo

Petzyo’s marketing approach is fresh and inspiring. The bag is clear and simple. It says “Petzyo, Kibble that counts”.

There’s a few claims such as “Australian Made & Owned”, “Sustainably-sourced”, as well as “Grain Free” and “100% natural”.

It’s nice that they didn’t put pictures of fresh stem broccoli and gourmet chicken on the bag like other Australian brands made mostly from cereal grains. Simple is the best.

What do the ingredients actually say?

Petzyo’s dry food formulas are great because all ingredients are good inclusions. It is preserved naturally with rosemary, rather than using ambiguous chemicals. They also use sustainable meats from Australian farmers.

The top two ingredients in the Chicken & Turkey formula are what you would expect – sustainable poultry and Turkey. Petzyo is able to provide both lean and high-quality protein for dogs.

Next, we see a mix of non-meat ingredients with nutritional value. It is nice to see a mixture, rather than adding corn (like many Australian brands).

As a low-GI ingredient, sweet potatoes is an excellent choice with a variety of nutritional benefits. It is a great source for fiber and antioxidant beta-carotene, which has been shown to protect against heart disease and cancer.

Peas, and Lentils are both included. They are delicious in moderation (again with other Australian brands, we found most of the formula to only contain peas). These ingredients will provide vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for your dog.

This mix includes a variety of nutritious ingredients that you will instantly recognize as healthy: carrots, tomatoes, blueberries and spinach.

Petzyo has included three omega-rich ingredients to support heart health, joint health and skin and coat health. These include chicken oil and flaxseed oils.

Petzyo raw dog food/BARF patties

Raw patties are a great way to provide your dog with unmolested nutrition. You can freeze them so that you can take one out of the freezer each morning to feed your dog.

Petzyo BARF formulas are all single-protein, which is great for dogs that have a sensitive to particular meats. As the most nutritious animal ingredients, you’ll find a mixture of raw and ground meat as well as organs like liver and kidney.

You’ll find the same variety of fruits and vegetables as in the Petzyo dry foods formulas, and eggs as a complete-protein source.

With so many quality additions to the patties, you really do get what your pay for. Cold-pressed flaxseed oils are great to see. Yogurt, Chia seeds are also great to see. It sounds like a morning smoothie for a fitness-junkie.

Dogs are carnivorous and have a digestive system that can digest raw meat. Don’t be discouraged if raw food is not for you.

Petzyo’s raw dog food is worth looking into. A mix of dry and raw food is a great way for dogs to be fed without a lot of cost.
